Emergency crisis services need skilled mental health assessment and de-escalation at WRHN @ Midtown, formerly Grand River Hospital’s KW Campus. This is part time.
WRHN is hiring a Social Worker, MSW within Mental Health & Addictions Emergency Crisis Services. You will assess patients presenting to the emergency department with mental health crises and advise the emergency physician on disposition. The position collaborates with Child & Adolescent and Adult In-Patient Mental Health, hospital services, and community resources. Rapid Response Team crisis intervention may also be provided.
Key Responsibilities: Assess mental health and risk for emergency department patients
Advise emergency physicians on appropriate patient dispositions
Provide crisis intervention services for Rapid Response clients




Support protected environments for patients, staff, and visitors
Work alongside inpatient mental health and emergency teams
Requirements: Three years minimum clinical experience in mental health
Experience responding to diverse psychiatric emergencies
Skills in crisis and bio-psychosocial assessment
Knowledge of mental status examination and differential diagnosis
Detailed knowledge of community services and resources
Bring psychiatric emergency experience, clinical assessment, and de-escalation skills to emergency crisis services at WRHN @ Midtown.
