As a Staff Lawyer reporting to the Manager, Legal Services, you will support clients through criminal proceedings. Key Responsibilities: Provide Duty Counsel services at Newmarket courthouse
Represent clients during bail hearings and guilty pleas
Advocate in the Ontario Court of Justice
Identify vulnerable clients and provide appropriate referrals




Document client advice and instructions accurately
Requirements: Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Significant criminal law court experience
Knowledge of criminal procedure, evidence, and relevant case law
Strong advocacy, interviewing, communication, and judgment skills
Experience serving marginalized and vulnerable clients
