This full time Online Supervisor role leads coverage during the latter part of the daily news cycle. Reporting to the Managing Editor for Local Coverage, you will guide online staff, promote digital priorities, and support content across platforms. The position requires newsroom leadership, editing expertise, and curiosity for local stories.
Key Responsibilities: Champion online coverage in meetings and daily operations
Develop audience growth strategies for Globalnews.ca and social media
Report top-performing content to inform editorial decisions
Ensure stories meet content, grammar, and style standards
Resolve website user complaints and social feedback
Requirements: At least seven years of journalistic experience
Experience editing in a major market
Proven supervision or team leadership experience
Proficiency with Snapchat, Instagram, and social media
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
