Build overhead and underground distribution systems with Toronto Hydro as a Powerline Technician Apprentice using electrical troubleshooting skills. Work across Toronto locations.
This apprentice role supports construction, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems. You will work under a Certified Power Line Person’s direction while developing applicable skills. Responsibilities include cables, conductors, transformers, switching, protection, control, and instrumentation equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Install and maintain low and medium voltage cables
Troubleshoot overhead and underground distribution systems
Install and maintain transformers up to 27.6kV




Perform switching operations on primary and secondary equipment
Follow protected work practices and regulatory procedures
Requirements: Two year electrical or electronic college diploma preferred
Valid Ontario Class G or higher license
Ability to obtain DZ or ARZ license post hire
Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces
Ability to read distribution system construction drawings
Apply electrical distribution, troubleshooting, and safety knowledge while developing Powerline Technician skills across Toronto Hydro’s system.
