Support police communications from the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service headquarters through calm call handling, radio dispatch, and accurate computer records. This permanent part time position includes rotating shifts.
The Communications Dispatcher answers calls for police, fire, ambulance, alarms, and general inquiries. You will determine call types, gather locations, assess hazards, and coordinate appropriate responses. Duties also include monitoring officers, operating emergency systems, updating CAD and NICHE RMS, querying CPIC, and supporting front-counter service.
Key Responsibilities: Assess calls and distinguish criminal, civil, and bylaw matters
Monitor officer locations, radio traffic, and officer safety
Coordinate assistance from ambulance, hospitals, tow trucks,



and agencies
Maintain CPIC tasks, emergency listings, databases, and duty records
Monitor headquarters CCTV and custody-related information
Requirements: Minimum completed OSSD or equivalent
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Satisfactory criminal record check before starting employment
Valid Class G Ontario driver’s licence
Satisfactory driver’s abstract
Bring calm communication, emergency call assessment, radio coordination, and records-system accuracy to police communications operations.
