Risk-based auditing and financial analysis define this full time Auditor role with Alberta Education and Childcare in Edmonton. Evaluate controls, compliance, and public programs.
Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting and Account, the Auditor plans and conducts audits of ministry programs and external service providers. The position evaluates compliance, effectiveness, economy, and efficiency. It also delivers annual audit plan projects, special assignments, and advisory support.
Key Responsibilities: Support annual risk analysis, audit planning, and scheduling
Assess legislation, policies, procedures, controls, and risks
Conduct onsite audits of systems, operations, and transactions
Analyze findings and prepare comprehensive audit reports




Follow up on recommendations, action plans, and timelines
Requirements: University graduation in a related field
Eligibility for recognized accounting designation enrollment
Two years of audit experience, or equivalent
Knowledge of internal controls and management principles
Ability to prepare analysis, reports, and schedules
Apply internal auditing, risk analysis, and reporting expertise to support accountability across Alberta Education and Childcare programs.
