Extendicare seeks a Cook experienced in large-quantity food preparation, preferably within healthcare or retirement settings. You will review menus, follow standardized recipes, and serve meals attractively. The work also includes temperature audits, menu substitutions, and compliance with dietary procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver foods for residents, guests, and employees
Review menus and production sheets before meal preparation
Prepare and serve therapeutic and speciality diets
Complete temperature audits for fridges, freezers, and storerooms
Follow recipes, production charts, menus, and meal schedules
Requirements: Food Handler's Certificate
Large-quantity food preparation experience
Knowledge of special and therapeutic diets
Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation
Ability to lift heavy, hot items and stand
Apply culinary preparation, therapeutic diet knowledge, and food safety practices as an Extendicare Cook serving residents.
