Operate Swift Current lift stations using mechanical inspection and basic electrical maintenance skills. This permanent full time position includes standby availability.
The City of Swift Current seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator focused primarily on lift station duties. The position includes occasional Wastewater Treatment Plant shifts for training and on-call purposes. You may inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical components associated with sanitary sewage lift stations. The role also supports other Wastewater Treatment Division areas as directed.
Key Responsibilities: Perform assigned sanitary sewage lift station duties
Inspect mechanical and electrical lift station components
Complete preventative maintenance and repairs




Work occasional plant shifts for training
Remain available for assigned standby responsibilities
Requirements: Successful completion of Grade 12
Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license
Ability to obtain additional operator certifications
Basic computer program knowledge and experience
Satisfactory Criminal or Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire
Apply wastewater operations, equipment maintenance, and independent judgment while supporting the City of Swift Current’s sanitary infrastructure.
