Teach violin and viola part-time on Mondays with Dixon Hall, supporting children and youth through music education and individual lessons.
Reporting to the Manager, Music School, you will provide enjoyable, educational instruction primarily to communities including Regent Park, Moss Park, and South Cabbagetown. The position includes monitoring progress, adapting methods, preparing students for RCM exams, competitions, events, and recitals. Parent communication and attendance records are also central.
Key Responsibilities: Provide enjoyable, educational music experiences for students
Monitor progress and adjust teaching methods when necessary
Prepare students for RCM exams, competitions, and recitals




Consult parents and communicate student progress regularly
Maintain attendance records and attend scheduled lessons punctually
Requirements: Prior experience teaching violin and viola
Post-secondary education in music
Ability to teach diverse music styles and approaches
Experience teaching children and youth considered an asset
Strong English communication and basic computer skills
Bring violin, viola, teaching, and communication expertise to Dixon Hall’s Monday Music School programming for local youth.
