Use AutoCAD and telecommunications design skills as a CAD Technician supporting broadband infrastructure projects for rural and underserved communities. This position is primarily office-based or hybrid.
Canadian Fiber Optics and Northern Lights Fiber seek a results-oriented CAD Technician to prepare outside plant design deliverables. The work includes drawings, layouts, maps, and graphic representations under a designer’s direction. You will support permits, construction documentation, database posting, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare IFR drawings, strand charts, splice diagrams, and schematics
Create underground and aerial civil permit drawing sets
Prepare IFC drawings and Bill of Material reports
Convert construction redlines into accurate AutoCAD as-builts




Enter project information into internal databases
Requirements: CAD, engineering design, drafting diploma, degree, or equivalent training
Minimum two years of relevant drafting experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and 2D and 3D CAD drafting
Ability to interpret engineering sketches, markups, and technical drawings
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, GIS data, SHP files, and GPS
Apply AutoCAD, drafting, and documentation expertise to telecommunications outside plant designs supporting broadband project delivery.
