Provide patient-centred nursing care on the ALC Unit at St. Joseph’s Health System in Hamilton, using assessment and rehabilitation expertise. This temporary full-time position includes day and night shifts.
As a Registered Nurse, you will care for medically stable patients awaiting alternate facilities or community programs. You will support elderly patients with simple to complex medical issues, including complex needs, high acuity, and less predictable outcomes. The work emphasizes evidence-informed, preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitation care.
Key Responsibilities: Assess patients and determine their care and treatment needs
Deliver patient-centred care across diverse medical conditions
Support elderly patients through assessment, treatment,



and rehabilitation
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on patient care
Lead delivery of comprehensive care for complex patients
Requirements: Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
Current BCLS/HCP certification
Knowledge of senior and family care
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and families
Recent general medicine or geriatric nursing experience preferred
Use nursing assessment, cooperative practice, and rehabilitation care to support ALC patients at St. Joseph’s Health System.
