POSITION SUMMARY:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the Siksika Iitaisokinaapyoyis Healing Lodge Recovery Centre. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitization, and housekeeping duties to support the health, safety, and well-being of clients, employees, and visitors. The Custodian ensures that all assigned areas are maintained in accordance with established cleaning procedures, infection prevention practices, and workplace health and safety requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Clean and sanitize client rooms, offices, washrooms, common areas, hallways, kitchens, and other designated spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including door handles, light switches, countertops, tables, and handrails.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, showers, and other personal care areas on a regular basis.




- Empty garbage and recycling bins and dispose of waste in accordance with facility procedures.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste, including potentially contaminated materials, as trained and authorized.
- Replenish washroom supplies, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other cleaning materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of general cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, and established procedures.
- Requires physical condition and strength for lifting or movement of heavy items.
- Qualified Designation/Certification/Licenses:Other:Requires general knowledge of the Siksika Nation culture and some ability to communicate in the Siksika language.

Education and Experience

Custodial Certification required.

Minimum of one year of janitorial or maintenance experience required.

Position will be filled based on requirements and candidate qualifications. Priority: Siksika then others.
