ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Eastern Rural Zone invites applications for two (2) permanent full-time salaried Family Medicine Physicians at the Dr. W.H. Newhook Health Centre in Whitbourne, NL.
The successful candidates will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients and families in Whitbourne and the surrounding area, with a broad scope of practice encompassing ambulatory care, inpatient coverage, emergency care, and after-hours on-call coverage.

Whitbourne is a welcoming rural community on the Avalon Peninsula,
approximately 90 kilometres west of St. John’s, offering a relaxed lifestyle and easy access to outdoor recreation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) certification preferred
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive primary care services including ambulatory clinics, inpatient coverage, and emergency care
- Provide chronic disease management, palliative care, and acute care services
- Participate in after-hours and on-call coverage shared equitably among the physician group
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador, commensurate with level of experience. On-call is billable to the Medical Care Plan (MCP).
