Residential HVAC/R Apprentice - 2nd to 4th Year

Ready Refrigeration is seeking a registered second-, third- or fourth-year Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic apprentice to join our residential service and installation team.

The successful candidate will have hands-on HVAC experience and an interest in developing their service, troubleshooting and installation skills. You will work alongside experienced technicians, taking on responsibilities suited to your apprenticeship level and demonstrated abilities.

Responsibilities

- Assist with diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining residential HVAC/R equipment and systems
- Install ducted and ductless heat-pump systems under appropriate supervision
- Support HVAC installations for residential new-construction projects
- Assist with occasional light-commercial HVAC/R work as required
- Support service and emergency calls as appropriate to training and experience
- Develop troubleshooting skills and help restore equipment and systems to proper operation
- Report equipment issues and findings to the supervising technician
- Complete accurate service documentation and job records
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management
- Use company tools, equipment and vehicles responsibly




- Follow company safety procedures and applicable regulations
- Participate in required apprenticeship training and maintain progress toward certification

Qualifications

- Current registration as a second-, third- or fourth-year Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic apprentice
- Hands-on residential HVAC service and/or installation experience appropriate to apprenticeship level
- Familiarity with ducted and ductless heat-pump systems
- Mechanical aptitude and developing troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn, take direction and apply feedback
- Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract
- Valuable communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with others and complete assigned tasks within training and supervision requirements
- Dependable, safety-conscious and customer-service focused
