What You'll Do

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll play a critical role in keeping our recycling yard operating safely and efficiently by loading, unloading, sorting, and moving ferrous materials.

Responsibilities

- Operate heavy equipment including loaders, cranes, grapple cranes, shears, and other yard equipment
- Load trucks safely and accurately to meet weight requirements
- Unload inbound ferrous materials efficiently while maintaining safe traffic flow throughout the yard
- Sort, stockpile, and organize materials in designated locations
- Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance checks on equipment
- Communicate effectively with scale operators and yard personnel via mobile radio
- Maintain operational records and equipment logs
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Heavy equipment operating experience required




- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable transportation (worksite is not accessible by public transit)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in metal recycling, scrap processing, or industrial operations
- Knowledge of ferrous metal grades and classifications
- Experience operating cranes, loaders, grapple cranes, or similar heavy equipment
