Role Overview

This role is part of our Global Markets IT (GMI) department, which supports information systems across the full value chain of the capital markets business. GMI teams are located primarily in Paris, London, New York, Montréal, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore.

We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Montréal team. You’ll deploy, support, and improve the Equity platform across the Americas, helping provide the best possible digital experience for our trading, sales, and operations teams in the Americas and globally. You’ll also contribute to the broader digital transformation agenda while strengthening the security and resilience of the existing platform.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Trading and client service: Work closely with Front Office Trading in New York to understand workflows and future feature and service-level agreement (SLA) requirements.

Production oversight: Ensure the right instrumentation is in place and easy to access and understand for daily platform stability and performance monitoring, as well as ad hoc analysis.
Technical advisor: Test and analyze the platform to identify recurring or potential bottlenecks. Develop proposals to address issues by refactoring algorithms, redesigning components, or resizing infrastructure.
DevOps engineer: Use the established inner-source framework to collaborate on or implement approved changes.
Agile facilitator: Help strengthen the security and efficiency of the CI/CD pipeline, which is essential to production stability and effective incident recovery.
Strategic thinker: Work closely with global and Asia-based delivery teams to continuously improve technical and organizational practices.
Technology advocate: Incorporate AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot into your daily work to improve development speed,



business security, and delivery quality.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
Degree in Computer Science preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in development, support, or SRE within the financial services industry.
Financial Markets Knowledge
Knowledge of the equities business and financial markets.
Understanding of end-to-end equity workflow
Basic knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, indices, options, futures, and swaps.
Knowledge of P&L; and VaR concepts is an asset.
Technical Skills
SQL and NoSQL databases.
Windows Server environments, including services, IIS, and scheduled tasks.
UNIX/Linux, including navigation and shell or Perl scripting.
SQL databases, including query writing, stored procedures, and query optimization.
Batch processing systems such as Control-M.
Monitoring systems such as ITRS Geneos and ELK.
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
Container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
GitHub Copilot and Jira.
C# is an asset.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an asset.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Fluency in English.
Self-motivated, autonomous, and collaborative.
Able to work under pressure and manage priorities.

CGI provides a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The range is determined by several factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licences and certifications.



Compensation decisions are made based on the specific circumstances of each candidate. The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000–$115,000. This position is currently open.
