Position Summary

Fil-Trek Corporation is a successful and well-established industrial manufacturing company with over 30 years of experience, located in Cambridge, Ontario. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of industrial filtration equipment, proudly serving customers across Canada and international markets.

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Strategic Sourcing Specialist to strengthen our domestic and international supplier network, negotiate competitive pricing, reduce procurement costs, and improve supply chain efficiency.

The successful candidate will have experience in industrial manufacturing procurement, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to identify strategic sourcing opportunities that support operational efficiency, product competitiveness, and continued business growth.

What You Will Do

- Identify, evaluate, and develop domestic and international suppliers for industrial materials, components, equipment, and manufactured products.
- Source industrial materials, filtration products, equipment, and manufactured components, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and operational requirements.
- Negotiate competitive supplier pricing, purchasing agreements, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
- Develop and implement cost-reduction strategies to improve procurement efficiency and profitability.
- Research alternative suppliers and sourcing opportunities to improve pricing, quality, availability, and lead times.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company's Approved Vendor List (AVL).
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing capacity, technical compliance, quality, and delivery performance.
- Identify new sourcing opportunities, products,



and supplier partnerships that support business objectives.
- Analyze supplier quotations, market trends, material costs, and international landed costs.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop alternative sourcing strategies to reduce supplier dependencies.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Sales to align sourcing activities with operational requirements.
- Track and report measurable cost savings, supplier performance, and sourcing improvements to Management.

What We Are Looking For

- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier development, or supply chain management, preferably within industrial manufacturing.
- Experience sourcing industrial materials, mechanical components, equipment, or manufactured products.
- Familiarity with steel, stainless steel, plate, pipe, flanges, fittings, castings, forgings, and machined components.
- Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes, technical drawings, material specifications, and applicable ASME/ASTM standards is an asset.
- Proven experience identifying, evaluating, and developing domestic and international suppliers.
- Strong negotiation, cost analysis, supplier relationship management,



and commercial decision-making skills.
- Experience implementing procurement cost-saving initiatives and sourcing improvements.
- Knowledge of international purchasing, Incoterms, customs, freight, tariffs, and landed costs.
- Experience maintaining approved vendor lists and evaluating supplier performance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple sourcing priorities, and collaborate across departments.

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
