Position Overview

Spectrum Home & Family Care is seeking dependable and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide individualized home and community-based support to a client in Nelson, BC.

This position offers approximately 30–36 hours per week, with scheduling based on the client's needs and approved service hours.

The primary focus of this position is homemaking support, helping the client maintain a clean, safe, comfortable living environment while promoting independence and quality of life.

Mandatory Requirements

- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Current Food Protected certification
- Current WHMIS certification
- Valid driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract
- Reliable transportation
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including applicable vulnerable-sector screening
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Key Responsibilities – Homemaking Support

- Meal Preparation: Assist with meal planning, food preparation, and kitchen cleanup.
- House Cleaning: Perform general household cleaning, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning kitchens and bathrooms.
- Laundry: Assist with washing, drying, folding, and organizing clothing and household linens.
- Transportation: Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and approved activities.
- Grocery Shopping: Assist with grocery lists, shopping, and organizing purchased items.
- Community Access:



Accompany and support the client with community outings, appointments, and everyday activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment.
- Encourage independence and respect the client's personal preferences and routines.
- Complete accurate progress notes and required documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and qualified boundaries.
- Follow individualized support plans, safety procedures, and organizational policies.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous experience in home care, personal support, community support, homemaking, or a related field is an asset but not mandatory.
