Satellite Building Components (An AEP Company), located in Merrickville, ON, provides professional design services, supplies engineered wood products, and manufactures roof and floor trusses for contractors, builders, and homeowners. We are currently seeking a full-time Operations Manager to support our growing operations.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Operational Teams to achieve increased revenue, profitability, cash generation, productivity and high-quality customer satisfaction. In collaboration, this role will coordinate, execute and evaluate the activities of all departments with respect to budget, production, pricing, sales, and distribution of products.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and oversee daily production operations to meet schedules and quality standards

· Train, coach, and support team members to achieve performance goals

· Oversee all activities directly related to design, manufacturing and supply of specialized products

· Ensure all health, safety, and quality protocols are followed

· Coordinate workflow, materials, and equipment for efficient production

· Collaborate with Production Manager, Logistics and Design teams to ensure timely order completion

· Promote a positive, protected, and productive work culture

Qualifications

· A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree plus 3–5 years management experience in the engineered products industry;





· A combination of education and 5–10 years of management experience in any combination of the following industries: construction, building, engineered products, or manufacturing

· Strong understanding of truss manufacturing processes, design software, and production flow.

· Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

· Monitor departmental performance against quarterly and annual targets and take corrective action, if necessary, to ensure progress;

· Monitor financial performance to ensure departments are meeting or exceeding their budgetary commitment;

· Prepare and monitor Operational Budgets, weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts, as well as Working Capital and Cashflow reports;

· Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement;

· Ability to set clear expectations and ensure accountability

· Fluency in English in written, reading, and oral communication (speed, accuracy, and proper expression) to work effectively with other staff.
