Fremont Building Maintenance Inc. is seeking a reliable, experienced Building Caretaker for an anticipated residential strata assignment in Burnaby, British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and general upkeep of a residential building and surrounding property. This position requires someone who can work independently, takes pride in their work, and communicates professionally with residents and property management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and maintain common areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, and amenity spaces
- Clean exterior areas, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and waste and recycling rooms
- Perform routine inspections and report maintenance and safety issues promptly
- Handle minor repairs such as basic plumbing and lighting fixture repairs as appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage and work areas
- Respond to resident concerns courteuosly and professionally
- Escalating issues when required
- Coordinate with property management and contractors as directed
- Support seasonal tasks such as snow and ice checks and general exterior upkeep
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior building caretaker or janitorial experience, ideally in residential strata
- Basic maintenance skills and the ability to perform minor repairs safely
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Good communication and qualified manner with residents
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
COMPENSATION AND EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
- $25-$28 per hour depending on experience
- Approxiamately 35 - 40 hours per week schedule may vary
- Vacation and statutory holiday pay provided in accordance with BC employment standands
- Employment contingent on contract award
