Street sweeping and winter road control are central to this temporary full time Roads Maintainer assignment in Waterloo Region. The schedule is Monday to Friday.

The Region of Waterloo seeks a Roads Maintainer for general maintenance on Regional roads and roadsides. You will primarily operate a street sweeper, then support snow plowing, salting, sanding, drainage work, and seasonal maintenance. The assignment also includes equipment inspections, documentation, traffic control, and operating other vehicles within the classification.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sweep curbs, gutters, catch basins, bridges, and Regional properties
- Use vacuum attachments for leaves, catch basins, and ditch inlets
- Operate single or tandem axle trucks during winter operations
- Use plow, wing,



and computerized material spreading equipment
- Maintain roads through patching, drainage, debris, and guide rail work

Requirements:

- Functional knowledge of job-related equipment operation and use
- Two years of directly related experience, normally required
- Grade 12 education or approved Grade 10 equivalency
- Knowledge of applicable traffic, safety, and transportation legislation
- Ability to work safely in varied environmental conditions

Use street sweeping, truck operation, and winter maintenance skills supporting safer Regional roads and roadsides throughout Waterloo Region.
