Geotechnical planning and construction administration define this permanent position with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors in Peace River.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Construction Technologist supports highway and geotechnical projects across the Peace Region. You will contribute technical knowledge to planning studies, project programming, consultant agreements, and construction delivery. The position requires understanding of design standards, right of way acquisition, utility coordination, transportation regulations, environmental regulators, and departmental guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop input for multi-year construction and rehabilitation strategies
- Prepare consultant proposal terms using available planning studies
- Assess proposals and assist with proponent selection




- Monitor consultants and contractors for safety and quality compliance
- Recommend solutions for major construction procedure changes

Requirements:

- Related technical diploma and at least six years’ experience
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License required
- Eligibility for Association of Science and Engineering Technology membership
- Ability to analyze problems and provide creative solutions
- Ability to resolve conflicts and make sound decisions
