Westland seeks an experienced employee relations leader to guide sensitive workplace matters, investigations, and manager decisions in Surrey, BC.

This hybrid Manager, People Relations position combines hands-on expertise with leadership of the People Relations Advisor. You will partner with business leaders and People & Performance colleagues on challenging employment decisions. You will also collaborate with Legal and external advisors on labour relations matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Handle complex employee relations matters from assessment through resolution
- Conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, and conflict
- Strengthen manager capability through practical, risk-informed guidance
- Collaborate on grievances, collective agreements, mediation, and arbitration preparation




- Monitor workplace requirements and address organizational risks

Requirements:

- Ten or more years in employee, labour, or related HR relations
- Three years leading an employee relations or HR business partner team
- Working knowledge of employment, human rights, privacy, and safety requirements
- Robust consultation, facilitation, mediation, negotiation, and communication skills
- Unionized environment experience or collective agreement interpretation is an asset
