Support wind operations and maintenance for TransAlta’s Melancthon Wind Asset, using turbine technology knowledge and disciplined safety practices.
As a Wind Technician, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and productive plant performance. This full-time, salaried position is based at the Melancthon wind site in Ontario. You will work with technicians, contractors, supervisors, and regional management to deliver operational results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive operational performance through maintenance, service, and repair work
- Support Supervisor and regional Manager plant outcomes
- Adhere to TransAlta and Siemens procedures, policies, and regulations
- Ensure routine and preventative maintenance meets quality standards
- Resolve issues collaboratively with stakeholders and support groups
Requirements:
- Three to five years of wind turbine experience preferred
- Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, control, and safety knowledge
- Knowledge of GE wind turbine technology and plant operations
- Understanding of contractor requirements, procurement, and inventory management
- Valid Driver’s License and compliant required training
