Use SCADA, analytical tools, and alarm management to support York Region’s water and wastewater operations from 145 Harry Walker Parkway.

This casual, on-call Remote Operator assignment supports continuous remote operations for York Region’s Water and Wastewater department. You monitor systems, assess operational events, communicate abnormalities, and coordinate emergency responses. The position also supports pumping stations, odour control facilities, system reliability, and documented operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leverage SCADA, eRIS, Maximo, and alarm dialers
- Coordinate CWMS use for emergency dispatched operators
- Report operational issues promptly to field operations staff
- Follow standard operating procedures and operational job plans




- Respond to operational inquiries from staff, contractors, and municipalities

Requirements:

- Knowledge of water and wastewater operational systems and hydraulics
- Understanding of relevant legislation and occupational health requirements
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office spreadsheet and database programs
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence without responsible offences
- Ability to analyze problems and respond effectively to emergencies
