Position Summary

As a Dispatcher, you will serve as the operational link between drivers, internal teams, and customers. You will coordinate real-time route support, manage service orders, and resolve day-to-day service challenges. Using GFL's proprietary software, you will track productivity, record service data, and collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service.

Responsibilities

- Schedule service and accommodate customer service changes, ensuring service follows established policies.
- Dispatch calls to routes based on assigned routes and driver locations.
- Check in drivers at the end of the day and review route sheets and paperwork for accurate data entry.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve service issues and clarify responsibilities.
- Handle incoming customer calls and emails; troubleshoot potential delivery and pickup problems.
- Help determine daily driver staffing levels to balance responsiveness and productivity.
- Record information from drivers and distribute it to the appropriate departments.




- Communicate with maintenance shop personnel and provide additional support as assigned.
- Be available to answer urgent weekend calls and relay information to the appropriate teams.

Requirements

- One to two years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or customer service preferred; dispatch experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of TDG requirements and waste manifests.
- Knowledge of hours-of-service regulations is an asset.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace programs, including Gmail, Sheets, and Docs.
- Strong customer focus, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Advanced software application skills, accurate word processing, and adequate typing speed.
