The Town of Newmarket Recreation and Culture Team seeks an experienced, non-manager specialist for Summer Camp 2027. You will support challenging-behaviour responses, develop visual tools, coach staff, and help deliver protected, quality programming. The position works across community camp sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support staff addressing challenging camper behaviours
- Implement behaviour management policy and techniques
- Create visual schedules, token boards, and sensory tools
- Visit camp sites daily and suggest service improvements
- Respond to escalated concerns and behavioural emergencies
Requirements:
- Related post-secondary education and progressive recreation experience
- Supervisory experience in a related field
- Extensive experience supporting people with disabilities
- Current First Aid, CPR-C, High Five, and crisis certifications
- Class G licence, reliable vehicle, and Vulnerable Sector Check
