Maintain emergency response equipment at Suncor’s Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta, using inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
This full time Maintenance Technician supports Suncor’s Emergency Services Team. The safety-sensitive position focuses on equipment readiness, quality workmanship, and reliable maintenance. Duties include preventative maintenance, annual testing, equipment servicing, and emergency response support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain portable and dry chemical extinguishers in readiness
- Schedule annual testing to meet NFPA standards
- Service firefighting equipment, including foam carts and monitors
- Maintain respiratory protective equipment to required standards
- Support training courses and emergency response operations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma
- Standard First Aid certification
- Valid class four driver’s license and clean record
- Fire extinguisher inspection qualification from recognized institution
- Breathing apparatus experience or 3M / Scott SCBA certification considered an asset
