Job Description

The client is looking for two fire prevention advisorsattached to the Technical Expertise Department. The role is operational: theperson executes, under the supervision of a senior resource, rather thandefining strategy. Day-to-day work covers compliance review of fire safetyplans, the register of fire safety and emergency measures plans, planningevacuation drills with operations and security teams, and writing opinions andinspection reports. Command of the legal and normative framework (NBC, NFC, municipalby-laws, Quebec Fire Safety Act) underpins the expected advisory role. Theclient specifies a junior-to-intermediate profile with 2 to 5 years ofexperience at most, consistent with an execution role under supervision.

Candidate sought: a fire prevention technician holding a DECor AEC in the field, with 2 to 5 years of practice in inspections, fire safetyplans, emergency measures plans or evacuation drills. The person knows the NBC,the NFC and the Fire Safety Act, writes clearly in French and works in supportof a senior resource.

Key Requirements:

Requirements

Profiles to Exclude:

- Profile without a DEC or AEC in fire prevention, and withoutdemonstrated equivalent training on the resume.

- Profile with no fire prevention work experience on theresume, or less than 2 years.

- Profile with more than 5 years of fire prevention experience(cap set by the client).

- Emergency response firefighter whose resume shows noprevention activity (inspection, fire safety plans, awareness, drills).

- Occupational health and safety profile without demonstratedfire prevention specialization or knowledge of the NBC or NFC.

- Corporate security or guarding profile without fireprevention training.
