Support palliative residents with personal care and emotional support at Good Shepherd – Emmanuel House Hospice in Hamilton, working twelve-hour shifts.

This Personal Support Worker position serves individuals nearing the end of life in a ten-bed hospice. You will provide person-centered care within a team involving personal support workers, nursing, physicians, spiritual support, and psychosocial professionals. Care considers residents’ personal and cultural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide care to residents, families, and friends at life’s end
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, meals, and feeding
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions
- Monitor and report changes in conditions or behaviour
- Complete documentation and light housekeeping duties

Requirements:

- Hold an approved Personal Support Worker certificate in good standing
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
- Have end-of-life or life-limiting illness experience
- Demonstrate judgement, problem-solving, and assessment skills
- Work twelve-hour days and nights as scheduled
