Position Summary

We are seeking a Family Practitioner with Enhanced Surgical Skills (ESS) or Obstetrical Surgical Skills (OSS) to join a cooperative and supportive medical team in the vibrant community of Smithers, BC.This is an exciting opportunity for a physician who enjoys providing comprehensive rural medicine while practicing to the full scope of their training. The successful candidate will join a team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the Northwest region.

The incoming physician will provide a combination of:

- Comprehensive family practice
- Hospital-based care
- Emergency department participation (optional depending on interests and call arrangements)
- Surgical assisting and ESS/OSS services
- Obstetrical care, including cesarean sections (for OSS physicians)
- Collaborative care alongside family physicians, specialists, nursing staff, midwives, and allied health professionals
