-Current Certification of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

-Current BCLS certification

-Minimum 2 years Emergency Services experience

-Electrocardiography Certification/Course

-Electrocardiography experience

-Critical Care Course/Completed modules

-Practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:

-Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood & blood products

-Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician orders,



administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and IV medications, venipuncture and IV Initiation and management

-Proficiency in the use of patient assessment technology (vital signs/cardiac monitor, oximeter, and infant weigh scale)

-First aide training/knowledge of application of ice, heat, slings, splints, dressings and compression bandages)

-Experience with Geriatric, Pediatric, and Mental Health patient populations preferred.

-Advanced clinical assessment skills course or equivalent preferred

-Current Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCPI)

-Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA
