The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for one position of Kinetic Park Seasonal Laborer in the Community Services Division.

Under the direction of the Kinetic Park Superintendent, you will assist with the maintenance of Kinetic Park green spaces, rodeo grounds, campgrounds, Doc’s Town, grandstands, and indoor sports facilities.

This will include mowing, string trimming, irrigation of grounds, application of herbicides, and building maintenance on aging infrastructure. Other duties include daily maintenance of washroom facilities, campground and grounds cleanup, shoveling snow, set up and tare down of events and tradeshows.

Basic Requirements:

- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check required upon hire;
- A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License;
- A clean Driver’s Abstract
- Able to operate small gas engines - powered equipment (e.g. lawn mowers, rototillers, string trimmers, etc.).
- Able to operate; riding grass mowing equipment and tractors
- Able to be around livestock
- Able to perform outside physical labour in all weather conditions;
- Able to work alone or with a crew;
- Be punctual and have valuable time management; and
- Must be willing to work in the evening and weekends.




- Previous experience in the operation of utility tractors (20 - 80 hp);
- Previous experience in irrigation system maintenance and troubleshooting;
- Occupational Health and Safety Training.
- Previous experience with parks maintenance, and landscaping
- Saskatchewan Pesticide Applicators License class 3 (Landscape Class); and
- Mechanical aptitude and experience in maintaining small gas engines.
- Ability to use hand tools and knowledge of building maintenance.

The salary range for this position is $23.51 per hour to $25.43 per hour as per current CBA with CUPE Local 183.
