Our Client
Our client is a long-standing, award-winning Toronto developer with a multi-thousand-home pipeline across the GTA, spanning condominium and purpose-built rental communities. As a full-cycle developer with its own in-house construction company, our client manages every stage of a project, from land and approvals through construction and delivery. They are known for a community-minded approach to city-building, with a strong track record of affordable housing, complex urban infill sites, and thoughtful redevelopments that turn challenging properties into vibrant, livable neighborhoods. Our client is entering an exciting current phase of growth, with several new rental projects breaking ground over the next two years.
Project Accountant
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Project Accountant to support the Finance function,
working directly with the Controller and the Director of Finance. This is a full-cycle role: the successful candidate will own project accounting from invoicing and receivables through the cost consultant and lender draw process, and act as the finance contact for Project Managers. The role has no direct reports, and the person joins an experienced Project Accountant on the team while taking on their new project launches.
The successful candidate will be an independent, detail-driven accountant with at least 3 years of experience, ideally with a real estate developer, construction company, or an integrated developer and construction management firm. They will have enough experience to own the work without close direction, and the appetite to build real depth across a full project cycle or two.
The compensation package ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 based on experience, with a 10% discretionary bonus, three weeks of vacation plus a Christmas closure, summer Friday half-days, and a standard benefits plan. The role follows a hybrid office schedule. Our client is an advocate for equity and diversity and recognizes the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.
