Provide diagnostic data and therapeutic intervention as a casual Respiratory Therapist with Island Health, supporting safe respiratory equipment use.

The Respiratory Therapist works in accordance with Island Health’s strategic direction, Vision, Purpose, and Values. This position prioritizes patient safety and continuous quality improvement across all duties. It requires approved Respiratory Therapy education, professional eligibility, certification, and current cardiac life support training.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide diagnostic data for patient care
- Deliver therapeutic respiratory interventions
- Apply respiratory equipment safely and appropriately
- Make emergency decisions and establish priorities
- Operate related equipment, including computers

Requirements:

- Graduate from an approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Eligible for British Columbia Society membership
- Hold Canadian Society certification
- Maintain current Cardiac Life Support Level C
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
