The City of Swift Current operates a state-of-the-art Wastewater Treatment Plant, and is seeking progressive, innovative and achievement-oriented team member to fill a permanent full time position.

This position will be primarily responsible for lift station duties while working into occasional shifts at WWTP for training and on-call purposes. Staff will be required to be available when assigned to standby responsibilities.
Work may involve the inspection, preventative maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical components associated with the City’s sanitary sewage lift stations.
This position may be required to assist in other areas of the Wastewater Treatment Division as directed by the Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Successful completion of Grade 12.
- Ability and willingness to obtain additional certification required to progress through range of operator classes.
- Have and maintain a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
- Successful candidates must complete and provide a satisfactory Criminal/ Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures required for care, safe and efficient operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment and possess initiative with respect to duties and responsibilities.




- Knowledge and experience with basic computer programs.
- Ability to read and interpret data, charts, computers, manuals, instruments, and process indicators and make necessary process and equipment adjustments.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

- Preference may be given to graduates of Water Resources Engineering Technology, SIAST or equivalent post-secondary education.
- Successful completion of Wastewater Treatment // Collection Level 1, 2 or 3 Certification.
- Knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in wastewater collection, treatment, including monitoring, testing, and analysis.
