Thermal analysis and design take center stage for scientific balloon payloads, precision instruments, and satellite systems at StarSpec Technologies. Work flexibly between remote analysis and on-site collaboration.
As a Thermal Engineer, you will own work packages from requirements through reporting, with thermal engineering as your primary responsibility. Build steady-state and transient models, define environmental cases, and turn predictions into hardware and test decisions. Collaborate with mechanical, optical, electrical, and systems engineers across concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own thermal analysis and design work packages
- Build and maintain steady-state and transient models
- Define hot, cold, operational, and survival cases
- Evaluate heaters, sensors, insulation,
coatings, and isolation
- Correlate predictions with laboratory and flight data
Requirements:
- Degree in mechanical, aerospace, engineering physics, or related discipline
- Two or more years of relevant thermal analysis experience
- Thermal solver experience with radiation and conductive interfaces
- Robust heat transfer and thermodynamics foundation
- Availability for on-site testing in Ayr and occasional travel
Apply thermal modelling, spacecraft environments, and evidence-based engineering to shape real hardware at StarSpec Technologies.
