Perform specimen collection and ECG testing with Island Health as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in a regular part time, multi-site position. Early shifts and rotating days apply.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Chief Technologist, or designate, you will perform laboratory procedures and related clerical duties. The Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics provides high-quality laboratory services. Duties include preparing, distributing, and storing samples, plus urinalysis testing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collect blood and other patient specimens
- Prepare samples for laboratory analysis
- Distribute and store specimens appropriately
- Perform urinalysis using colour-coded dipsticks
- Complete ECG testing where required

Requirements:

- Grade 12 education
- Recognized Laboratory Assistant training program completion
- One year of recent related experience
- Valid BC Class 5 Vehicle Licence
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
