Title: Security Guard

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $22.12 per hour

Site: Lanark County Mental Health

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 18:30 - 00:30

Site Overview

Lanark County Mental Health provides essential mental health support and healthcare services to the local community. Security guards at this location play a vital role in keeping the site safe, welcoming, and secure during evening hours, supporting a respectful environment for staff, clients, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

Maintain a visible, alert, and professional security presence across the property.

Greet, assist, and direct visitors and staff with transparent, professional communication.

Conduct interior and exterior patrols, promptly responding to incidents or safety concerns.

Protect clients, staff, property, and physical assets.

Document, investigate, and report all security incidents and daily site activities accurately.

Enforce client site policies, access controls, and safety regulations.

Perform evening lock and unlock routines and complete monthly safety inspections.

Work independently during evening shifts while maintaining strong communication with the broader team.

Must Haves

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certificate from a WSIB-approved provider.

Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check during the onboarding process.

Valid G2 driver's license (or higher) and access to a reliable vehicle.

Ability to be clean-shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double vaccination).





Immunization records showing full immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and a clear Tuberculosis (TB) test result at the time of hire.

Valid certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's pre-onboarding training program.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months in this role and schedule.

Nice-to-Haves

Minimum 6 months of security experience in a healthcare or corporate environment.

6 or more months of customer service experience.

Bilingualism (English and French).
