Building automation estimating expertise supports Convergint’s Calgary team through accurate bids, technical analysis, and occasional site visits across Canada. Work primarily occurs in an office setting.

As a BAS Estimator, you support sales by reviewing project requirements, specifications, drawings, and technical documents. You prepare estimates for large-scale RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes while assessing risks, deliverables, resources, and timelines. The position also involves building automation systems, vendors, and construction tendering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for RFPs and greenfield projects
- Analyze specifications, drawings, technical scopes, risks, and deliverables
- Participate in site walks, pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions
- Source pricing from vendors,



subcontractors, and partners
- Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities

Requirements:

- Three to five years in building automation estimating, project management, or design
- Ability to read construction documents, drawings, specifications, and technical scopes
- Experience with construction bidding and formal RFP or RFQ processes
- Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, Excel, and collaboration tools
- Degree, trade school, or equivalent experience
