Support daily living at Chemainus Health Care Centre as a Health Aide, using effective communication and related equipment. This temporary part time position has rotating days off.

Reporting to the Manager and supervised by a registered nurse or designate, the Health Aide supports residents and clients in long-term care. The work addresses physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs while promoting autonomy and choice. Island Health prioritizes continuous quality and safety improvement across the position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist residents and clients with activities of daily living
- Support physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs
- Promote residents' autonomy and choice
- Maintain residents' optimal functioning
- Follow registered nurse or designate supervision and direction

Requirements:

- Grade 10 education
- Recognized Nursing Assistant or Health Aide Program graduation
- Registration with the BC Care Aide Registry
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to perform position duties
