The Technical Recruiter identifies, engages, and hires highly skilled software engineering talent across US-based locations. This role manages the full early-stage recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offer support, and new hire orientation, while also handling exit interviews and employee status changes. The position requires extensive experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish hiring goals, operate with a high degree of autonomy and creativity, and occasionally lead or direct the work of other recruiting professionals. The Technical Recruiter collaborates closely with internal partners to build strong candidate pipelines, sell complex technical roles effectively, and ensure a smooth, well-organized recruitment process for niche, in-demand talent.

Responsibilities

- Recruit software engineers and related technical roles, including Software Development Engineers (SDEs), occasional engineering managers, and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) for US-based locations such as Seattle, the Bay Area, and Boston.
- Own top-of-funnel recruiting activities, including sourcing, Boolean search, market research, and pipeline building for niche, highly sought-after technical roles.
- Conduct initial phone screens and interviews to assess technical skill sets, role fit, and candidate motivation, ensuring a strong match with hiring needs.
- Effectively sell roles to candidates by clearly articulating the opportunity, team environment, growth potential, and broader impact of the work.
- Perform reference checks and support offer-related activities, helping to ensure a clean and well-structured negotiation and acceptance process.
- Conduct orientation for new employees and handle exit interviews,

capturing insights and feedback to improve future hiring and retention efforts.
- Process changes in employee status in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining appropriate documentation and compliance with internal procedures.
- Collaborate closely with other recruiters, sourcers, and recruiting business partners, working as part of a team rather than in isolation.
- Partner with a Recruiter Business Partner to transition candidates from onsite interview stage through final selection and offer lockdown.
- Use extensive recruiting experience and judgment to plan and accomplish hiring goals, balancing speed, quality, and candidate experience.
- Apply a wide range of recruiting concepts, practices, and procedures to attract top developers from leading technology companies.
- Lead and direct the work of others when needed, providing guidance on sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, and process best practices.
- Adapt quickly, move with urgency, and solve problems independently without overanalyzing or waiting for perfect conditions.
- Maintain organized, well-documented pipelines and tracking within applicant and AI-powered candidate tracking systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of recruiting processes, helping to streamline workflows and reduce negotiation-related complexities.

Essential Skills

- At least 8 years of experience in recruiting or a closely related field, with significant focus on technical recruiting.
- Minimum of 45 years of hands‑on experience recruiting software engineers, particularly Software Development Engineers (SDEs).
- Strong technical recruiting expertise, including understanding software engineering roles, technical skill sets, and hiring market dynamics.
- Demonstrated success in top-of-funnel recruiting activities, including sourcing, Boolean search, pipeline building, and candidate engagement.
- Proven ability to get candidates excited about opportunities and effectively sell complex technical roles.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite five days a week in a modern downtown office environment. The workspace is newly built, with amenities that create a welcoming, hotel‑like atmosphere, including features such as recreational areas, wellness spaces like a yoga studio, quiet zones, and multiple cafes and dining options. You will work alongside a mix of contract and permanent staff in a highly collaborative team setting, with an emphasis on shared goals and mutual support. The environment offers access to advanced recruiting technologies, including AI‑driven tracking systems, and provides significant exposure to the rapidly growing cloud and AI ecosystem. The position focuses on niche, high-impact roles rather than high-volume hiring, with performance expectations centered around quality placements and strong top‑of‑funnel activity. The culture encourages moving quickly, solving problems independently, and working together to build a solid network and resume‑enhancing experience.
