This non-clinical position supports emergency and urgent care environments, protects vulnerable mental health patients, and safeguards care teams. The officer may receive custody of individuals awaiting involuntary medical examination or psychiatric assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support protected and secure healthcare environments
- Protect vulnerable mental health patients and care teams
- De-escalate events involving uncooperative, hostile, or violent persons




- Secure and protect patients during assessments
- Receive custody of individuals under applicable Mental Health Act processes

Requirements:

- Complete the QPSO Training Program and annual retraining
- Maintain a valid Manitoba Security Guard License
- Complete Grade 12 or equivalent
- Pass physical abilities testing and regular retesting
- Hold a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license
