Maintain wind turbines on-site with TransAlta in Melancthon, Ontario, using electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems expertise.
As a Wind Technician, you will support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Melancthon Wind Asset. The full time, salaried position applies TransAlta and Siemens procedures while supporting maintenance planning and regulatory compliance. You will work with technicians, contractors, supervisors, and regional managers to achieve plant outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, service, and repair wind turbine equipment
- Support daily operations and maintenance planning
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance accurately
- Document completed maintenance correctly and on time
- Identify and mitigate operational risks
Requirements:
- Related certification, education, or proven technical experience
- Three to five years of wind turbine experience preferred
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Knowledge of GE wind turbine technology
- Valid driver’s license required
