About the role

Plotly is hiring a Senior Software Developer in Test to improve product quality and reliability. The role combines test strategy and automation with hands-on feature development and bug fixes. This is a fully remote, full-time position.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests, test suites, test plans, and test cases.
- Test products, identify and track defects, and perform manual testing when needed.
- Work on product features and bug fixes alongside other engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and training on test automation.
- Contribute to testing strategy, code reviews, design discussions, and project planning.
- Assess products against business and technical requirements, customer expectations,



and performance and reliability standards.
- Help establish software quality practices and block releases that do not meet quality standards.

Qualifications

- At least five years of professional experience in software development in test or a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience writing test cases and automated scripts, maintaining test data, and testing REST APIs.
- Experience with load and performance testing.
- Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes environments.
- Python or Go, data science or machine learning concepts, GitHub Actions, CI, and DevOps are assets.
