Emergency nursing at Fraser Health requires patient assessment and clinical reasoning while delivering person-centered care within an interprofessional team.

The Registered Nurse provides direct care to emergency department patients in accordance with BCCNM standards and Fraser Health’s Mission and Values. This position assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. It also emphasizes therapeutic communication, patient advocacy, care coordination, discharge planning, and health teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess patients and determine appropriate nursing interventions
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Coordinate care and delegate tasks to support staff
- Teach patients and families about health care goals




- Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and referrals

Requirements:

- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse practicing registration with BCCNM
- Emergency postgraduate coursework or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication abilities
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform required duties
