Build AI coding agents and developer tools as a Principal Software Engineer with OpenTable in Toronto, using cloud systems and APIs.

You will help found OpenTable’s Agentic Engineering Platform team within Product Engineering. The Principal Engineer will redesign product delivery so people and AI agents collaborate in shared team spaces. You will connect models with company knowledge, codebases, APIs, and engineering systems while improving secure adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify software delivery bottlenecks using data and direct observation
- Build and operate shared cloud agents and developer tools
- Automate planning, testing, review, rollout, and feedback workflows
- Pilot solutions with product engineering teams and package guidance




- Implement permissions, testing, recovery, tracing, and cost controls

Requirements:

- 8+ years delivering and operating production software systems
- Deep knowledge of APIs, service architecture, scalability, and security
- Proficiency with Claude, Codex, or Cursor
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into working experiments
- Experience helping engineers adopt tools or working practices
