Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 12:00p.m. to 3:30p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Purpose of the Position

The Listuguj Mi'gmaq Development Centre (LMDC) is seeking a motivated Custodian to help maintain its building and grounds in a clean, safe, and well-maintained condition. This position is responsible for cleaning, basic maintenance, and outdoor upkeep to ensure a welcoming environment for staff, students, clients, and visitors.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

- Clean and maintain offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, washrooms, and common areas.
- Empty waste and recycling bins and restock cleaning and facility supplies.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs, including painting and light upkeep.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain building grounds, including litter collection, lawn care, and snow and ice removal.
- Set up and take down rooms for meetings, events, and training activities.
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Operate custodial equipment safely and follow health and safety procedures.




- Monitor inventory and assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming facility.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in cleaning, custodial, or maintenance work preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic maintenance and repair skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Reliable, dependable, and attentive to detail.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license is an asset.
- Successful candidate must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
