AgeCare seeks a Registered Practical Nurse skilled in professional nursing care and resident-status communication. Support long-term care residents within a nursing team.
This Registered Practical Nurse provides skilled care to residents while following required medical care and nursing practice. The position collaborates with Registered Nurses, physicians, health care partners, and other care-team members. It also directs Personal Support Workers and supports informed shift reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement AgeCare policies and procedures with Registered Nurses
- Provide input into residence and unit procedure revisions
- Notify physicians about significant resident-status changes
- Direct Personal Support Workers on the care team
- Participate in shift reports about resident-status changes
Requirements:
- Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing
- Background in activation, nursing, and personnel administration
- Knowledge of applicable health care legislation and standards
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Competence
- Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses
