Position Summary

James Dick Construction Limited is seeking a licensed 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician who also holds a valid Master Electrician designation. This position is responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, testing, and verifying electrical systems across industrial operations and facilities. The successful candidate will serve as the company's designated Master Electrician and technical lead for electrical compliance, permitting, contractor management, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

· Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and test industrial electrical systems and equipment.

· Maintain power distribution, lighting, heating, communication, control, security, renewable energy, and energy storage systems.

· Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

· Act as the designated Master Electrician for the company.

· Obtain and manage ESA permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.

· Plan and organize electrical projects from concept through completion.

· Coordinate and oversee electrical contractors and subcontractors.

· Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to maintenance and operations personnel.

· Promote safe work practices and participate in hazard assessments and incident investigations.

Required Qualifications





· Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician.

· Valid Master Electrician Licence.

· Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.

· Experience working in industrial environments such as aggregate operations, asphalt plants, mining operations, manufacturing facilities, heavy industrial facilities, or construction material processing operations.

· Solid knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) requirements.

· Experience obtaining permits and managing ESA inspections and compliance activities.

· Knowledge of industrial power distribution systems, motor controls, starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC-controlled equipment, and industrial processing systems.

· Valid Ontario driver's licence.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in aggregate, quarry, crushing, screening, or asphalt operations.

· Experience with conveyors, crushers, wash plants, screening equipment, and industrial processing systems.

· Previous supervisory, project management, or contractor management experience.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
